The Revenge of Garuda

The story of Kadru and Vinatā, the wives of Sage Kashyapa, tells of their rivalry as mothers of serpents and Garuḍa. Kadru’s deception led Vinatā into slavery, until Garuḍa, born of her, freed her by seizing the nectar of immortality from the gods. Their tale symbolises the eternal struggle between deception and truth, bondage and liberation.
